Dreamers Leadership Project - Spring 2021
Dreamers Leadership Project (DLP) engages immigrant youth ages 14-24, who do not qualify for other youth jobs programs because of their legal status. In partnership with 8 additional immigrant service agencies, DLP's youth leadership component offers youth training in social justice issues, civic activity planning, team building, community outreach and partnership development. In addition, youth will learn workplace values and behaviors, discover new career paths, assess their strengths, review short-term job choices and/or long-term career plans, and build skills such as writing resumes, interviewing, effective communication, task management.
Emergency Food Pantry for Immigrant Youth and Families
In partnership with Voice of Tabernacle Multiservice Center (VTAB), CYC provides food for Caribbean immigrant and refugee youth and families in Mattapan, Dorchester and Hyde Park. We hold public food distributions on Fridays and Saturdays, and also provide diapers, and health and hygiene kits. Beyond our regular services, we also distribute Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday boxes. These boxes include a turkey and all the trimmings needed to prepare a holiday meal at home. Our partnership's emergency food services reach over 14,000 people annually.
